Nethermind Probes Ethereum Opcodes in Groundbreaking Measuring Initiative Launched

Ethereum researcher Nethermind probes 28 EVM opcodes, precompiles to estimate proving costs. Results show cryptographic opcodes (modexp, point_evaluation) and modulo/division opcodes (mulmod, mod, div, sdiv) incur high proving times. Proving time per gas is estimated for each opcode or precompile using a multi-GPU setup and the marginal measurement approach from imapp's Gas Cost Estimator project.
