Ethereum Users Substitute Burst Resources for High-State Demand Tolerating

Ethereum mainnet data shows users substitute state for burst resources. A capacity-constrained demand model better matches observed behavior. Aggregate demand is highly inelastic with event-based elasticity of approximately 0.175 ± 0.093. State share elasticity is around 0.43, showing users substitute between state and burst based on prices, but face high variance. Users fill increased capacity, adjusting base fees to maintain utilization.
