Ethereum Protocol Reformed with Major Update to Self-Destruct Mechanism Approved

EIP-7702 passes with a vote of 93%. Protocol developers have completed one step towards allowing Ethereum contracts to self-destruct. Developers voted on the proposal, submitted by Alex Beregszaszi and Tim Beiko. The update will allow for more secure contract management. It is intended for mainnet testing this year. No timeline has been set for its deployment yet.
