ENS Cuts DNSSEC Verification Gas by 99 Percent

ENS switched DNSSEC signature verification from EVM elliptic-curve operations to EIP-7951's P-256 precompile. A study of 2145 claims found the change reduced gas costs from 1.34M to 10.5K per verification. The migration saved 1.12B gas across eligible DNS imports between March 9 and July 27, 2026.
