Ethereum Developers Propose Opening Up Key Delegations Options

Ethereum developers propose adding support for non-ECDSA keys with a new transaction type. The first non-ecdsa key type is ed25519. This feature allows delegation of accounts to non-ECDSA keys, following EIP-7702. Post-quantum key schemes are also under consideration, pending selection of a suitable scheme. The proposal does not specify which post-quantum algorithm will be used in the future update.
