Meta Tells Devs to Ditch Expensive Precompiles for Opcodes
EIP-7702 proposes to use Opcodes for EVM extensions, not Precompiles. Developer claims that Precompiles are expensive, increase bytecode size, and require unnecessary memory operations. Unused space is available in the instruction table for new opcodes, making them a less breaking choice than precompiles. New address creation and returns become unpredictable with precompiles.
